My 90 Days of Gratitude - Day 50
In moments of uncertainty, when difficulty and doubt about my abilities or the future overwhelm me, I find comfort in thinking about certain things that bring me back to the peace and security of the present.
1. I reflect on where I was ten or five years ago when I didn’t have what I have now.
2. I focus on what I have in front of me and devise a strategy using the resources I currently have, because they are all I’ve got, and I cannot freeze, waiting for something magical to happen. I must act, always hoping for the best possible outcome.
3. I think of poetry, of the verses I have memorized, those that provide me with security.
4. I think of the people who love me, their words, and their feelings towards me.
5. I think of my smallness in the face of the vastness of the universe, of the complexity of life and nature.
6. I remember my moments of happiness: when I was told “I love you,” when I received flowers and poems when I experienced pleasure, affection, and words of admiration.
7. I also think of the lessons time has taught me, which have helped me overcome difficult times.
I am deeply grateful for the ability to evoke positive thoughts that nourish my mind and soul.
