My 90 Days of Gratitude | Day 48: What do I appreciate about my work?

It's been a while since my last post; the busy work season meant my priority had to be rest. But I wanted to take a moment to share some reflections on what I’m most grateful for as a sales associate in a department store.

The most rewarding aspect of my role is our incredibly multicultural workplace. Our global sales team is a microcosm of the world, featuring colleagues from Portugal, Morocco, Spain, Andorra, and Argentina. This diversity in the workplace extends to our clientele, as we serve customers daily from every corner of the globe—from Russia all the way to Patagonia.

It’s fascinating how often society focuses on borders, when, fundamentally, humans are universally the same: the friendly and the grumpy, the good and the bad. Regardless of where someone was born or grew up, human nature—with its light and shadow—is consistent across the map.

Ultimately, I feel deep gratitude for this job. It provides essential stability, offers continuous learning opportunities, and allows me to forge new connections every single day.
